• Welcome to our Blog

We are Sam and Heidi Simanjuntak, a husband and wife fine art photography team based in Hawaii. We love to travel and are always happy to join you even if you're across the globe. Sam is originally from Indonesia and Heidi from Washington State. We met in 2003 on the Big Island of Hawaii and tied the knot in 2005. We love marriage and flat out LOVE people.

We are firm believers that God created this world and people to be beautiful. There is such joy in photographing the uniqueness of individuals and all that surrounds.

As artists, we aim to capture the true essence of people not only in those candid moments but also by creating those moments. We are constantly looking for inspiration to stretch our creativity to new heights. So, whether you are a bride & groom, a family or individual, it's a privilege to be the one behind the camera capturing YOU!

Ruben & Katherine: Kailua-Kona Hawaii: Livingstones Church

It’s couples like Ruben and Katherine that make my job so fun. They naturally have a strong presence in front of the camera and their cute flirtatious interactions made for some great shots. Their wedding was romantic and beautifully designed by Hawaii Island Events. It was a privilege working with such amazing people and capturing the love of this gorgeous bride and groom.

Thank you Ruben and Katherine for allowing me to capture your special day. God bless you in your marriage and may you stand firm on His promises. You will avoid many arguments keeping this in mind, the other one is always right.:)

Kona old Airport

My friend, Becca, and I started a photographer’s group awhile back. We meet once per month for a potluck to discuss various topics of interest. It’s been a great way to network, support, build friendships and grow together as artists and business owners. We occasionally will get together for photo shoots. Here are a few shots of my fellow photographer friends, Rebecca and Ranae, from a recent shoot at Kona Old Airport Beach.

Beautiful captures of Ranae. You work well in front of the camera.
